Meet Jennifer
With over 15 years of experience in clinical social work, Jennifer is guided by a desire to assist her clients in reaching new levels of self understanding, manage complex relationships and find peace in our sometimes anxious world. Her therapeutic approach is strengths based and solution focused, while integrating CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy), and ACT (acceptance and commitment therapy). She is described by her clients as warm, compassionate and not afraid to bring humor into the therapy room.
Raised in Houston, Jennifer earned her Bachelor’s degree in sociology from Providence College and returned to Houston to pursue a Master’s in Social Work at the University of Houston Graduate College of Social Work. Her clinical training internship was completed at Baylor College of Medicine’s Psychiatry Clinic, where she focused on psychodynamic psychotherapy and cognitive behavioral therapy modalities.
Prior to establishing her private practice, Jennifer worked at Ben Taub General Hospital as a pediatric and emergency center social worker and later at Texas Children’s Hospital, where she served as the Gastroenterology and Liver Center Social Worker. Her experiences in the hospital setting exposed her to a multitude of human behavior challenges and honed her skills as a compassionate listener and clinician.
Outside of the office, Jennifer enjoys spending time with her family and friends, reading, exercising, cooking and baking and learning about diverse cultures through travel.
